Quote - Andre Trocme.

Andre Trocme (7 April 1901, Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont - 5 June 1971, Geneva) was a pastor in the French town of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon. He was a pacifist and during World War Two he and his protestant Huguenot congregation defied the Vichy Government and their Nazi invaders by saving French jews from arrest and certain death. In January 1971 the Holocaust memorial centre in Isreal, Yad Vashem, recognised Andre as Righteous among the nations. In July 1986 Magda Trocme (nee Grilli di Cortona) was honoured also.
